Thomas F. Rathman

As of Friday May 3, 2024, an update to the services for Thomas have been posted at the bottom of his obituary, as his celebration of life has now been schedule:

Thomas F. Rathman, 61, of Exeter Township, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024 in his home with his loving family by his side. Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of Phyllis J. (Hornberger) Rathman and the late Thomas F. Rathman. Tommy graduated from Exeter High School, class of 1980. He owned his own business, Tom Rathman General Contracting for many years until his retirement. Tommy was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved cooking and sharing his recipes, and going to the mountains. He was a founding member of Pine Tree Retreat Cabin in North Bend, PA.

In addition to his mother, Tommy is survived by his siblings; Susan Salaneck, wife of Peter, Robin Rathman, wife of John Ward, Corinne Majowicz, wife of Robert, and Gregory Rathman, husband of Annette. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as his best friend, his dog Bailey.

The family would like to thank Healing Hearts Care for the love and care they gave to Tommy.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 from 10:00 am 11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am in Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA 19606. All are welcome to a Celebration of Life on Sunday, May 19 2024 from 2pm-6pm at the Rustic Picnic Area in Birdsboro. In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to an Animal Charity of your choice.
