Steven W. Shurr

Steven W. Shurr, 65, of Bernville, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 in his home with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of Beatrice A. (Seidel) Shurr, with whom he shared 42 loving years of marriage. Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of Movita (Reed) Blum, of Laureldale, and the late Clair W. Shurr, Jr. Steve graduated from Muhlenberg High School, class of 1978. He was a maintenance mechanic at DANA Corp and Bayer Global for many years until his retirement. Steve was a member of Mt. Pleasant Fire Company and Strausstown Rod and Gun Club where he also volunteered.

In addition to his wife Beatrice, Steve is survived by his children; Michael W. Shurr, husband of Michelle Shurr, and Brandon J. Shurr, husband of Brittney Shurr. He is also survived by his granddaughters; Brielle and Camryn, as well as his brother Chris Blum.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Tuesday evening, March 10, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA 19606. A service will be held the following morning, Wednesday, March 11, 2026 beginning at 10:00 am at Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 W. Neversink Road, Reading, PA 19606. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League, 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508.
