Ruth L. Barrett

Ruth L. (Fleisher) Barrett, 93, of Exeter Township, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024 at Celebration Villa. She was the wife of the late Ernest H. Barrett. Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Sallie (Hoppes) Fleisher. Ruth graduated from Reading High School and St. Joseph School of Nursing. She was an RN at St. Joseph Hospital for many years and later worked for various different private hospice groups. Ruth was a member of Seyfert Wesleyan Church.

Ruth is survived by her children; Kathleen Witman, wife of Raymond, and Karen Hoffman, wife of Stephan. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Matthew, Nevin, and Colin Witman, and Ashton Weiant, as well as her great-grandchildren; Alyson, Aidan, Aurora, AJ, and Willow, two nieces; Alice Mason McKenzie, and Barbara Mason Johnson. Ruth was preceded in death by her sister Esther Mason.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am in Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA 19606. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 W Neversink Road, Reading, PA 19606. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Seyfert Wesleyan Church, 2 Maple Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508.
