Obituary

Rodney "Rod" Reeder, 90, of Residence at Village Green, Sinking Spring, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026 .

Having met in high school, he was the husband of Patricia J. Hafer, with whom he celebrated 68 years of marriage. Born in Mt. Penn, PA, he was the son of the late Dr. Raymond K. and Marian (Welch) Reeder.

Rod graduated from Mt. Penn High School, class of 1953 and Lehigh University in 1957 with a Degree in Civil Engineering. He served in the Air National Guard. He was a lifelong member , an elder, and deacon of Pennside Presbyterian Church.

He worked for Merritt Lumber Co. in the design and construction of homes in the Reading area.

He was hired as Chief Engineer for Mirawal Div Birdsboro Corp. which produced porcelain steel building panels.

In 1964 he established A & E Building Products and served as a manufacturer's representative for various companies including Mirawal, Kaiser Aluminum, Westinghouse and American Steel Buildings.

Rod and Pat resided in Whitfield for 43 years & Spring Ridge for 16 years.

An avid golfer, a 60 year member of Reading Country Club, he was a winner of various awards and had six holes in one.

Family travels took Rod to 47 states and 10 countries outside the US. Together they enjoyed golf, tennis, camping, sailing, and the beach with visits to Ocean City, MD, Hilton Head, SC, and Williamsburg, VA. Rod was a member of Masonic Lodge 660, Scottish Rite Consistory and Raja Shrine.

In addition to his wife, Rod is survived by his daughters; Cheryl Miller, wife of Danny, of Ft. Myers, FL, and Patrice Martin, wife of Greg Kauffman, of Womelsdorf. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Trent Miller(Kara), Garrett Miller(Megan), Keri Lituma(Kurt), Dustin Martin(Kate), and Hope Martin, his seven great-grandchildren, his siblings; Dr. David B. Reeder, husband of Peggy, of Lititz, and Suzanne Magee, wife of John, of Erie, and his nieces and nephews; Karen, Emilee, Mark, David, and Doug.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Pennside Presbyterian Church, 253 N 25th Street, Reading, PA, 19606, with a celebration of life beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Friedens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church in Rodney's memory.
