Rev. Michael W. Ware, 51, of Mohnton, PA, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 in his home with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of Rev. Sonja (Lange) Ware and the father of Seraphina Ware. Born in York, PA, he was the son of Rita (Myers) Ware, and the late Ira Donald Ware. Michael graduated from Dallastown Area High School and from York College with his Bachelor's Degree. He also graduated from the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg with his Masters of Divinity (MDiv.) Degree. Michael was a Pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) for 24 years. In his first call, he served 4 congregations in Central Pennsylvania together with his wife Pastor Sonja Ware: Zion Lutheran Church in Trevorton, St. Peter's Lutheran Church in West Cameron, St. John's Lutheran Church in Leck Kill, and Zion Union Church in Herndon (ELCA/UCC). For the last 16 years, he was the beloved Pastor of Robeson Lutheran Church in Plowville, Mohnton PA. Michael loved his family and his congregation very much.

In addition to his wife, daughter and mother, Michael is survived by his brother, Matthew D. Ware, his niece Rebekah Ware and his nephew Joshua Ware. Michael was preceded in death by his father Ira D. Ware and his sister-in-law Christine (Markle) Ware.

Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Robeson Evangelical Lutheran Church at 3520 Plow Rd., Mohnton, PA 19540, or Camp Lionheart, Care of Tomeka Greene, 121 Nyes Road, Harrisburg, PA 17112. Camp Lionheart is a Summer Camp for children with heart conditions, facilitated through Hershey Medical Center. Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., has been entrusted with arrangements.
