Phyllis Hafer

Phyllis A. (Glass) Hafer, 88, formerly of Cumru Township, passed away Friday, December 29, 2023 at Country Meadows Retirement Community. She was the wife of the late Clarence L. Hafer. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late C. LeRoy and Violet N. (Kreider) Glass. Phyllis graduated from Muhlenberg High School in 1953. She was a longtime member of Berks Camping Club and Glad Tidings Assembly of GOD Church. Phyllis was a secretary for Thomas Handwerk for many years until her retirement.

Phyllis is survived by her children; Sheryl L., wife of Dennis Wahl, of Cumru Township, Michael S. Hafer, husband of Nancy, of Reinholds, and Gary A. Hafer, of Cumru Township. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild. Phyllis was predeceased by her brother Kenneth L. Glass and sister-in-law Joanne Glass.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday, January 5, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am in Glad Tidings Assembly of GOD Church, 1110 Snyder Road, West Lawn, PA 19609. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 W Neversink Road, Reading, PA 19606.
