Neil S. Hummel

Neil Hummel, 83, of Geigertown Pennsylvania, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025 in Zerbe Sisters Retirement Home. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Monroe and Evelyn (Strunk) Hummel. Neil was a graduate of Exeter High School Class of 1961. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Neil enjoyed a long career which included positions at Firestone, Dana Corp and lastly PennDot until his retirement. 

Neil is survived by his children; Todd Hummel, Becky Morris, Sean Hummel, Rachel Ingram, and Mark Hummel. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his former wife Phyllis (Ganter) Hummel and his companion Barbara Henn. Neil was preceded in death by his brothers Brian and David Hummel. 

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. with services to begin at 1:00 pm at Lutz Funeral Home, 2100 Perkiomen Avenue Reading, PA, 19606. Interment will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, 650 Fritztown Road, Sinking Spring, PA 19608. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Marine Corps League, https://www.mcleaguelibrary.org.
