Mary C. Swavely

Mary C. (Stapleton) Swavely, 103, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2023 in Reading Hospital. She was the wife of the late Paul B. Swavely. Born in Boyertown, she was the daughter of the late Samuel P. and Andora M. (Miller) Stapleton. Mary was a member of Alsace Lutheran Church.

Mary is survived by her two daughters Sherri L. Elswick of Muhlenberg Township, and Doris A. Bortz of North Falmouth, MA; eight grandchildren; Michael Billinger, Lori Kramlich, Brad Bortz, Karla Bortz, Brian Bortz, Karen Bisienere, Kimberly Mentzer and Kevin Elswick. nine great-grandchildren; Kelly Deibler, Amy Schaeffer, Sara Billinger, Jamie Kramlich, Jennifer Kramlich, Katelyn Bortz, Ellysia Moreis, Leeann Amorim and Payton Mentzer, eleven great-great-grandchildren; Jase, Reece, Reagan, Malachi, Grace, Julianna, Shaun, Layla, Zayn, Tyler and Desmond. She was preceded in death by her daughter Bette M. Billinger, her brothers Leon, Paul, Elwood, Bill, and John Stapleton, and her sister Esther Levengood.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm with services beginning at 12:00 pm at Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Avenue Reading PA, 19606.
