George R. Brown Lorah “Opa”, 73, of Pennside, passed away June 10th, 2013 in his residence. He was the husband of Kathleen R. (Johnston) Lorah. Born in Reading he was a son of the late George L. Brown and Ruth A. (McCrea) Brown-Lorah and step-son of the late Carl Lorah. He was a graduate of Mount Penn High School in 1958 and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. George was a founding member of Skyline Cruisers. He was the 2003 Mid-Atlantic Street Rod Association Rodder of the Year for Pennsylvania. He was an active member of the Blues Society of Central PA. He coached baseball and basketball for both Mount Penn Schools and Antietam Valley Rec. Center. George was a milkman for St. Lawrence Dairy and was then a business agent for Teamsters Local #429. In addition to his wife, George is survived by: Daughter: Kyle J. wife of Rob Gabrjolek of Exeter; Son: Matt P. Lorah husband of Bevy R. (Ricards) of Stony Creek ;Grandchildren: Rachel, Katelyn and Jenna Hudock and Anthony Gabrjolek; Great-Grandchildren: Jacob, Noah and Gabriel; One Sister: Carol Lorah Gechter of Casa Grande, AZ. Graveside services will be held in Forest Hills Memorial Park on Saturday at 11:00 am with a Celebration of Life Gathering immediately following at Stonersville Fire Company. Casual Dress and Street Rods Welcome. In Lieu of Flowers, Contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue LeagueP.O. Box 69 Mohnton, PA 19540. Lutz Funeral Home, Inc.
