Linwood Allyn Yoder

November 20, 1937 — January 19, 2026

Linwood Allyn Yoder, 88, of St. Lawrence, passed away on Monday January 19, 2026, at Spruce Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Margaret E. (Emery) Yoder, who passed away May 11, 2014. Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of Harold Allyn Yoder and Carrie Ellen (Boyer) Yoder. He graduated from Mt. Penn High School in 1955. Lin proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1957 through 1963.

Lin worked for Western Electric Co. (later AT&T/Lucent Technologies) for nearly 36 years, beginning in the Maintenance Department and advancing to become a Senior Materials Management Analyst. He also was a Member of I.B.E.W. Local 1898, serving as Treasurer.

An avid outdoorsman, Lin enjoyed hunting and fishing at his camp in Lycoming County, as well as trips to Canada and the western U.S. His "hunting room" has many trophies of his adventures. Lin was a Life Member of the NRA, the National Wildlife Federation, and Trout Unlimited.

He was also a member of the Lower Alsace Fire Company, American Legion Post No. 626, and the Berks County Civil Defense Auxiliary Police.

In retirement, he and Peggy loved traveling. Trips to Germany, Alaska and Hawaii were particularly memorable but spending time with their family was their greatest joy. In later years, Lin would be happiest relaxing in his recliner with a gin & tonic while watching westerns on MeTV or John Wayne movies on TCM.

Lin is survived by his son Jeffrey Allyn Yoder, husband of Alicia, step-son Gregory Delp Sr., husband of Georgene, and step-daughter Christine, wife of Charles Lyon, along with grandchildren Joshua Allyn Yoder, partner of Kali Hassinger, Kathryn Lynn Yoder, Olivia Jane de la Torre-Yoder, and Stephen Douglas Paul, partner of Maddy Feinauer; step-grandchildren Gregory Delp Jr., husband of Jennifer, Kimberly Delp, partner of Andy Ressler, along with step-great-grandchildren Bryan, Bailey, Kayla, Rebecca and Riley. Lin is also survived by his brother Dennis and niece Beth, and his sister Darlyn and niece Brenda and nephew Rob and their families.

Linwood was predeceased by his daughter Cynthia Lynne (Yoder) Paul and her husband Jeffrey S. Paul.
