Obituary

LeRoy G. Oudinot, 90, of Reading, Pennsylvania, went home to be with the Lord on June 19, 2026. Born on July 17, 1935, LeRoy lived a blessed and full life of devotion to his family, faith, country, and community.

LeRoy is survived by his wife, Nancy, his middle school sweetheart who quickly became the love of his life. Sharing 72 years of marriage, they built a family who was the center of their world. LeRoy was preceded in death by his beloved sons, Jon and Jay Oudinot.

He is lovingly remembered by his four daughters: Cynthia Eck of Exeter; Joy Oudinot of High Point, NC; Colleen Blosenski and her husband, Anthony, of Elverson; and Janelle Oudinot of Mohnton.

He was a proud grandfather of his seven grandchildren: Erin, Stephanie, Anthony Jr., Andrew, Jennifer, Brianna and Lucas. He was also blessed with six great-grandchildren: Dallas, Kennedy, Mia, Blakely, little LeRoy and Anthony III, all of whom brought him tremendous joy.

LeRoy began his career as a lineman and went on to become the founder of Birdsboro Tree and Utility Line Corp. In his later years, he was employed by Ironton Telephone Company from where he retired.

Golf was LeRoy's lifelong passion. Beginning as a caddy at age twelve, he developed exceptional skill and love for the game. He was a member at Reading Country Club winning many tournaments including the Club Championship in 1968.

In his retirement years, LeRoy found himself back to the RCC working as a Starter and Ranger, surprisingly finishing up his golfing career in the same place where it began.

Some other favorite past-times were gardening and maintaining his yard. He was also an avid automobile enthusiast who enjoyed collecting and restoring antique automobiles and participating in car shows. His appreciation for craftsmanship, hard work, and tradition was evident in everything he did.

One of LeRoy's greatest joys was spending time with his family. Whether it was a ride to Lancaster County or a trip to the shore, you could always count on him getting you there using a LeRoy "shortcut." He especially loved vacationing in Stone Harbor, visiting with his daughter in NC and winters spent in Pawleys Island, where countless memories were made with Nancy and their family. He had a love for horses and dogs, and had many faithful four-legged companions throughout the years.

LeRoy's life was guided by a deep respect for God, country, and family.

He will be remembered for his generous, patient, and selfless nature, as well as his sense of humor. A jokester at heart, he had a gift for bringing laughter and smiles to those around him. LeRoy was warm and welcoming to everyone he encountered.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate LeRoy's life at a visitation on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. at Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA 19606. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 W Neversink Road, Reading, PA 19606. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hope Rescue Mission, 645 N 6th Street, Reading, PA 19601. Lutz Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
