Katina (Syrellis) Krize, 66, of Wyomissing, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023, in her home. She was the wife of the late Steven J. Krize. Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late John and Nancy (Huesgen) Syrellis. Tina graduated from Schuylkill Valley High School. She was a member of West Lawn Methodist Church, where she was active for many years.
Tina is survived by two daughters, Nikki Krize of Lewisburg, and Julie Krize, (Matt) of Toronto. She is also survived by her siblings, Tambria (Syrellis) Sassor, (Ed) of Tampa, Tony Syrellis, of Reading, and many nieces and nephews.,
Tina led her life with a huge heart driven by love and service. Being a mother was a role Tina truly embodied; her daughters were her whole world. She planned the best themed birthday parties, baked cupcakes from scratch and made Halloween costumes by hand. A loving daughter and sister, Tina cherished time with family and treasured her relationships with dear friends. She enjoyed caring for family pets and spending time cooking.
Tina dedicated her life to the service of others. She was a volunteer at the Reading Hospital through the Adventures In Caring Foundation, where she dressed as Raggedy Anne and visited everyone from premature newborns to the sick and elderly, spreading love and offering a supportive ear to those in need. Tina became a Certified Lay Minister through the United Methodist Church in 2021, and was passionate about sharing God's word at various churches as she was needed. She was active in many ministries at West Lawn United, and was a beloved member of the congregation.
Visitation with family and friends will be held on Tuesday, July 18th from 9:30-11am with services immediately following at West Lawn United Methodist Church. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Tina at a luncheon following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to West Lawn Methodist Church.
