Marion R. (Shaffer) Kline, 95, of Reading, passed away on Saturday, September 18 2021, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Arthur R. Kline Sr. who passed away on May 6, 2015. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Walter R. Shaffer and Florence R. (Miller) Shaffer.
Marion was a long time member of St. Matthew's United Methodist Church and recently attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church both in Reading. She was a Sunday School Teacher for 46 years, a member of Missionary Society, a member of the Nurturing Committee and volunteered in as many church functions as she could.
Marion began her working career with Berkshire Knitting Mills as a full fashion knitter. She then went on to work at City Farmers Market as a produce vendor, then for Mae Hoffman for 18 years, lastly working for Richard Heagy Deli and retiring at 80 years of age after 46 years of service.
She is survived by one son Kenneth L. Kline of Reading; one grandson Michael L. Kline Sr.and wife Jill Kline. Two great grandsons Michael L. Kline Jr.and wife Chae Kline, and Evan T. Kline and his girlfriend Brooklyn Reed. Marion is also survived by her great great granddaughter Kira Victoria Kline and great great grandson Michael Lee Kline Ill, as well as two brothers Richard B. Shaffer of Wernersville, Terry L. Shaffer of Australia, Marian Gable and Lisa Quinby. She was pre deceased by her son Arthur R. Kline Jr., sister Betty J. Jeschke and brother Walter Shaffer.
Visitation with family and friends will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon with services beginning at 12:00 noon in Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Avenue Mt. Penn, PA 19606. Interment will be at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township. The family asks if you are not vaccinated, to please wear a mask to the services.
