Joseph W. Ustaszewski

Joseph W. Ustaszewski, 90, of Bern Township, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Berks Heim. He was the husband of Betty Jane (Smith) Ustaszewski, with whom he celebrated 53 years of marriage. Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of Walter and Mary (Weszka) Ustaszewski. Joseph attended St. Mary Parochial School. He then went on to earn his CDL. Joseph worked for many years as a truck driver, lastly working for Preston Motor Freight. Joseph was a member of Zion Spies Evangelical Church.

Joseph lived life to the fullest. He drove a racecar at the Fairgounds Race Track, Flew an airplane, scuba dived and travelled extensively across the country as well as to many destinations in Europe. He and Betty Jane also travelled to their timeshare in Orlando every February for many years.

In addition to his wife, Joseph is survived by his sisters Mary Ann Arentz and Harriet Pazik. He is also survived by his nephews David, Daniel, Frank, James, Matthew, Anthony, John, as well as his nieces Tracey, Deborah, Allison, Kathy, Lisa, Amanda, and Emily.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm with services beginning at 1:00 pm at Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA 19606. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of Joseph's family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Zion Spies Evangelical Church.
