John E. "Jack" Rutter, 77, of Exeter Township, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026 in Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center. He was the husband of Sue (Zajdowicz) Rutter, with whom he celebrated 58 years of marriage. Born in Parkesburg, PA, he was the son of the late William L. and Jeanette A. (McFarland) Rutter. Jack graduated from Exeter Senior High School, class of 1966. He proudly served his country for 11.5 years as an Aviation control technician for the United States Navy. He was on the USS American - WestPAC Cruiser and the USS Kitty Hawk - WestPAC Cruiser during the Vietnam war. Jack was the owner of Rutter & Son Construction for 38 years.

In addition to his wife Sue, Jack is survived by his son, Christopher Rutter, husband of Heather, of Exeter. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Emily, Taylor, and Hayden, his great-grandchildren; Owen, Valarie, Vivian, Olivia, Oakley, and Marlon, as well as his brother Lenny Rutter.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am at Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA 19606.
