Jean C. (Goodman) Allen, 94, formerly of Muhlenberg Twp., passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025 at Lutheran Home at Topton. She was the wife of the late Donald F. Allen. Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Agnes (Klemmer) Goodman. Jean owned and operated Jean's Variety Store on 11th and Muhlenberg Street for 19 years, retiring in 1994.
Jean is survived by her son, Jeffrey L. Allen, of Auburn, PA, and her sister Doris (Goodman) Reiter, of Phoenixville, PA. She was preceded in death by her brothers; Norman W. Goodman, Earl Goodman, and Richard Goodman.
Visitation with family and friends will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am at Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA 19606. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 W Neversink Road, Reading, PA 19606. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, https://donate.cancer.org.
