Janice L. Schmitz

Janice L. (Witman) Schmitz, 75, of Exeter Township, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at Hershey Medical Center. She was the wife of James G. Schmitz. Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late Stuart G. and Virgie M. (Meinhold) Witman. Janice graduated from Mt. Penn High School. She was active with the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts of America and was a Lorane Elementary School Volunteer. Janice worked as a secretary for the Department of Welfare for many years until her retirement.

In addition to her husband, Janice is survived by her son, Jeffrey A. Schmitz, husband of Alana (Baumener), her daughter Jodi I. (Schmitz) wife of Terry Faust, Jr. She is also survived by her grandson Jeffrey A. Schmitz, Jr.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024 beginning at 11:00 am at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 W Neversink Road, Reading, PA 19606.
