Janet Romanski

July 18, 1931 — September 26, 2023

Janet D. Romanski, 92, of Lower Alsace Township, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Ronald B. Romanski, with whom she celebrated 50 years of marriage. Born in Reading, PA she was the daughter of the late Elpidio and Carmella (Dastra) DeCarlo. Janet was a floral designer at Motta's Country Gardens in Birdsboro. Janet was a great cook. She loved to cook with wine, sometimes she even put some in the food! She was strong, fearless, gorgeous, had a colorful vocabulary, stylish, and loving. There was always a pot of soup and a container of Italian hot peppers in her fridge. She loved to dance, wore sunglasses inside like a rockstar, and wouldn't hesitate to tell you how she really felt.


In addition to her husband, Janet is survived by her children; Gloria Romanski, Terry Nowotarski, Bernie Nowotarski, and Vinny, wife of Carl Motta, She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, as well as her brother William Williams, sister Marva Brown, and many nieces and nephews.


Visitation with family and friends will be held on Monday, October 2, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm with services beginning at 2:00 pm in Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Avenue Reading, PA 19606. Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements. For online condolences, please visit
