Arthur W. Hill, 102, Stony Creek Mills, passed Wednesday morning, December 10, surrounded by his loving family, caregiver and pastor. His wish was granted that he pass away in the home he built 57 years ago. Born in Stony Creek Mills, he was a son of the late Martin L. and Laura D. Hill. His wife, Deborah S. passed February 7, 2008. They were married 75 years. He was employed at Rosedale Knitting Mills, American Die and Tool and last employed at Eastern Machine Products as a tool and die maker. He also raised turkeys, built grandfather clocks, and helped his wife bake many pounds of cookies. He was the oldest surviving member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, Stony Creek Mills. Arthur was a personal friend of the Irish singer, Daniel O’Donnell and always attended his concerts when he came to the greater Reading area. Arthur looked forward to going out to breakfast each week with “the gang.” Special thanks to his caregivers, Mercy, Baindu, Kathy, and Tammy for taking excellent care of him. Also, thanks to Covenant Home Care and Hospice. Arthur is survived by his son, Arthur R., husband of Joan E. Hill, Oley; and a daughter, Estelle C., wife of Ralph E. Fehr, II, Wyomissing. Other survivors include two sisters; Anabel Stump and Barbara Loose, both of Reading. There are also three grandchildren; Ralph E. Fehr, III, Tampa, FL, Gary K. Fehr, Ozark , MO and Kevin B. Fehr, Waynesboro, VA; three step grandchildren; Kurt C. Frederick, Fleetwood, Lisa J.F. Krick, Wernersville, and Kristen D. Frederick-Lewis, Brentwood, CA; four great grandchildren and four step- great grandchildren. Also a nephew, who was like a son to him, Richard S. Rothermel, Fredericksburg, VA and several other nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife andparents, Arthur was preceded in death by his siblings; Bessie Troutman, Richard Hill, Grace Wells, Martin Hill, and DorothyAuchenbach. A viewing will be held on Monday, December 15 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with services beginning at 11 a.m. in the Lutz Funeral Home Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Ave., Mt. Penn. The Rev. Catherine Feil and Rev. Mark R. Rigg will be officiating. Burial will be in Good Shepherd Cemetery, Tuckerton..
