Larry Hensley

Larry S. Hensley, 69, of Hamburg, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018 in his home. Born in Reading, Pa, he was the son of the late Orville L. Hensley and Mary (Strohecker) Hensley of Shillington. Larry was a keyboard player in the band "Disciples of Time." He enjoyed the outdoors, particularly fishing, hunting and visiting Chincoteague Island. Larry also loved photography, movies and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He worked at Dana for decades until his retirement. Larry is survived by two daughters Nicole M. "Girlie" wife of Michael Gregg of Hamburg, Tara M. "Winker Dinker Stinker but not the Bean Head" wife of Jason Miller of Kenhorst; two sons, Larry S. "Butz" Jr. of Reading and Scott E. "Monk" of Blandon. Also surviving are grandchildren: Matt "Bubba", Ashley, Olliver, Ethan "Stretch", Logan "Lefty", Jacob "Kong", Mighty Mikey, Hunter "Hammerhead", Aria "Sweet P's", Kian, Brecken, Kirsten "Snickle Fritz"; and four sisters, Kathy, Barbara, Sharon and Jo Ellen. He is predeceased by one sister Shelley. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am in Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to Assateague Alliance, 7206 National Seashore Lane, Berlin, MD 21811. Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
