Gladys Nieves-Vera, 70, of Reading, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026 in the Reading Hospital. Born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of Lucia Vera and the late Martin Nieves. Gladys was a candy packer at RM Palmer for many years until her retirement. Gladys was a member of VG Church in West Reading.

Gladys is survived by her children; Mayra Gonzalez and Lourdes Gonzalez. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Shalani, Sulivette, Joel, Nicole, Melanie, and Chelsea, as well as her great-grandchildren; Ethan, Valentina, and Ella. Gladys was the youngest of 12 children.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA 19606. A service will be held the following day, Wednesday, March 25, 2026 beginning at 10:00 am at Lutz Funeral Home. Inc. Interment will follow at Charles Evans Cemetery, 1119 Centre Avenue, Reading, PA 19601. Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., has been entrusted with arrangements.
