Monsignor Edward R. Domin, Pastor Emeritus of Saint Jane Frances de Chantal Parish, Easton, lived a life beautifully grounded by three constant anchors: his profound faith in God, his devotion to his family, and the lifelong friendships he nurtured along the way. These three anchors provided him with the strength he needed to battle an advanced cancer diagnosis since January 2025 and surrounded him with peace when he died on Friday, June 26, 2026. He was 64.
Born in Palmerton, Monsignor was the son of the late Edward and Loretta (Zwolenick) Domin. He is survived by his twin brother David and his beloved dog Ossa. Monsignor Domin is a graduate of Notre Dame Elementary School and Bethlehem Catholic High School. He studied at St. Pius X Seminary and earned degrees at three institutions in Rome: the Pontifical Roman Major Seminary, the Pontifical Lateran University and the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas, the Angelicum. He was ordained on September 17, 1988. He received the papal honor Chaplain to His Holiness with the title of “Monsignor” by His Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI in December 2007.
During the early years of his 38-year ministry, Monsignor served as an assistant pastor in a number of parishes in the Diocese of Allentown. He later served as pastor at the following parishes in the Diocese: St. Jane Frances de Chantal, Easton; St. Benedict, Mohnton; St. Catharine of Siena, Reading; Our Lady Help of Christians, Allentown; and Annunciation BVM (St. Mary), Catasauqua.
When not serving his parish communities through the Mass, the sacraments, and parish activities, Monsignor Domin was an avid sports fan cheering on his favorite teams: the Mets, Miami Dolphins and the Knicks. He enjoyed the time he spent with family and friends at Lake Harmony, but everyone knew Monsignor’s biggest sports passion was golf. His brother priests and long-time friends loved joining him on the links for a round (or two)!
Fun Facts about Monsignor Ed:
He shot three hole in ones; One was for a 2-year lease on a car. While he attended the seminary, he competed in, and finished, the Rome marathon twice. He was a two-time tennis champion at the Pontifical Roman Major Seminary in Rome.
