Jonathan J. Escott

November 4, 1948 — October 14, 2021

Jonathan Jay Escott, 72, of Exeter Township, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021, in the comforts of his home and family.

He was a devoted family man for wife Jeanne (Petrasso) Escott, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage; children Karen Rudolph, wife of Adam, Jeremy Escott, partner of Kim O'Neill, and Nathan Escott, husband of Angela; grandchildren Miles, and Aubrey; brothers Steven, and Alan, and his sister, Susan Post.

Jon graduated from Haverford High School in 1966, and from Drexel University in 1971 with a bachelor's degree. His career as a process engineer spanned more than 35 years and specialized in water treatment.

His days as a Boy Scout instilled a love of the outdoors, including hiking and noting his geologic rock observations, teaching his kids how to body surf waves at the shore, and vegetable gardening.

A classic Philly sports fan, he stuck with the Eagles even when "they blew it." He played softball, volleyball and golf, and collected coins and stamps.

In conversations, his kindness and reserved nature shined, as well as a knack for landing perfectly-timed, witty one-liners.

Family and friends relied on his geographic memory for precise directions and hand drawn maps. He also provided navigation for how to live life honestly, work conscientiously, and take the scenic route.

Services and interment will be private.
