Elinor Makowiecki

Elinor L. (Schaeffer) Makowiecki, 96, of Wyomissing, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024 in Complete Care at Berkshire. She was the wife of the late John Makowiecki, who passed away in 2008. Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Elsie A. (Mull) Schaeffer. Elinor was a graduate of Reading High School, class of 1946. She worked at Bortz Candies for many years.

Elinor is survived by her daughter Jane L. Valentino, widow of the late David, her son David Makowiecki, her grandchildren Amy, Kelly, Rebecca, and Valerie, and her brothers Dr. William Schaeffer Jr, widow of Kathleen, and Dr. Gene T. Schaeffer, husband of Shirley. She was preceded in death by her great-grandson Daniel Ellis, and her sister Gloria J. O'Reilly.

Service with family and friends will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024 beginning at 9:00 am at Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA 19606. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 W Neversink Road, Reading, PA 19606. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society at 1801 N 11th St, Reading, PA 19604.
