Henry Leon Duval, 94, of Spring City, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2023, in Southeastern Veterans Center, Spring City, PA. He was the husband of Theresa (Fontaine) Duval. Born in Central Falls, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Henry and Anita (L'Heureux) Duval. He was a 1947 graduate of Central Falls High School in Central Falls, RI. and was a member of St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C. Henry worked as a bookkeeper in banking for 3 years out of high school until he was drafted into the United States Army in 1951 to serve in the Korean War. He was discharged from the military in 1953, and then he worked for Piersol Pine Manufacturing in Oaks, PA for 25 years. Henry was an avid bowler his entire life, loved camping and square dancing. He was a member of the National Campers and Hiking Association. Henry was a big fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, Eagles, and 76ers, and always loved vacationing in Virginia Beach with his family.
In addition to his wife, Henry is survived by his daughter Lynn Keene, wife of Rich, of Exeter, his sons Richard Duval, husband of Maryann, of Gilbertsville, and Mark Duval, husband of Mimi, of Leonardtown, MD, 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, his sister Delores Foisy, wife of Maurice, and his brother Joe Duval. He was preceded in death by his brother Daniel Duval, his sisters Yvonne Meunier, and Jacqueline Duval.
Visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am In Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA 19606. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated beginning at 11:30 am in St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C. 975 Boyertown Pike Reading, Pennsylvania 19606. Interment will be at St. Aloysius Church Cemetery, Pottstown. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
