Phyllis M. Druzba (Sparr)

Phyllis M. (Sparr) Druzba has left this life on Saturday September 18,2021 at the Reading Hospital, she was 92. Phyllis was the daughter of Paul and Ada (Frye) Sparr. She was from East Reading. In 1947 she wed William (Red) McMichael. In 1978 he died at 49. They had two children; Susan wife of John Shaffer Jr. and Timothy husband of Karen (Lubas) McMichael. There are four grandchildren; Nathaniel, husband of Rebecca (Gusik) Shaffer, Wesley, husband of Jill (Davis) McMichael, Justin McMichael, companion of Caryn Becker, Amber (McMichael) Gzik, wife of Michael. There are eight great-grandchildren. Her love for each one was as great as any heart could give. She enjoyed crafts, needle work, baking, old movies, playing cards, and making the best German chocolate cake there ever was. She was a camp fire leader in her younger years, a member of St. Joseph Muhlenberg Ladies Association for many years. After raising her children she worked for Hans C. Bick, then twenty years for Bank of Pennsylvania. She would always say “best job in the world.” She made many friends at the bank and kept and cared deeply for all. Among these were her second husband to be, Chester Druzba. They wed in 1983, he died at 92 in August 2009.

Surviving are brothers Robert, husband of Barbara (Sheesholtz) Sparr, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother James Sparr.
