Donald S. Riegel Jr., 80, of Exeter Township, passed away Friday, December 8, 2023 at Celebration Villa of Exeter. He was the husband of Joan M. (Orth) Riegel. Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Donald S. Riegel Sr. and Jeanette (Podguski), wife of Frank Natoli. Donald graduated from Reading High School. He was a manager for Carpenter Technology for 36 years, retiring in 2002.
In addition to his wife, Donald is survived by his daughters; Debra M. (Riegel) wife of Mark Swist, and Lora M. (Riegel) wife of Robert Myers. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Jennifer, wife of Isaac Duquette, Michael Swist, Jonathan Myers, and Aidan Myers, as well as his sisters Sally Laity, wife of Jake, Ann Handling, wife of Gregory, and sister-in-law Mary Ellen Riegel. Donald was predeceased by his siblings; Lawrence Riegel, and Dolores (Riegel) Richardson.
Visitation with family and friends will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, with services beginning at 10:30 am in Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA 19606. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 W. Neversink Road, Reading, PA 19606. Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
