Charles (Charlie) A. Sustello, 81, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away at Reading Hospital on Monday, July 13, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Cora M. (Thomas) Sustello, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage. Born in Reading, PA, Charlie was the son of the late Dominic and Marie (Spinnato) Sustello.

Charlie graduated from Reading High School. He held managerial positions with ShopRite and Pathmark for many years until his retirement in 1997. He also proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserve and was a dedicated supporter of wounded veterans.

In addition to his wife, Charlie is survived by his sister, Sandy Quinter and her husband, Todd. He was preceded in death by his brother, Patrick. He is also survived by his extended family, including Neil and Gloria Thomas, Linda and Greg Hoffman, Paul and Becky Thomas, and his many devoted and much-loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Mim and Mark Lengel. He also leaves behind his feline buddies, Leonardo and Bruno.

Visitation with family and friends will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Lutz Funeral Home Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Ave., Reading, PA 19606. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Charlie's honor to the American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852, or to The Animal Rescue League of Berks County, Inc., at 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508.
