Janet M. Bortz (Nelson)

Janet M. (Nelson) Bortz, 85, formerly of Wernersville, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2020, in Rosemont Care & Rehabilitation Center, Bryn Mawr, PA. She was the wife of the late Walter Richard Bortz, who passed away November 21, 2013. Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late H. Spencer and Anna (Leininger) Nelson. She was a 1952 graduate of Reading High School and was the former Treasurer of Wernersville Public Library. Janet was also a member of Heidelberg Heritage Society, Wernersville, Berks County Senior Citizens Council, West Lawn Senior Citizens and the Women's Club of Wernersville. Janet is survived by her children: Richard A. husband of Judy, Carlisle, PA, Jeffrey N. husband of LeeAnn, Whitehall, PA, Lori Ann Sullivan, Fairless Hills; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister Barbara A. Searfoss, Grove City, OH and many nieces and nephews. Services are private.
