Betty Shade, 86, of Reading, Pennsylvania, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023 in Complete Care of Berkshire. She was the wife of Floyd Shade, with whom she shared 69 years of marriage. Born in Bloomington, IL, she was the daughter of the late William Brice and Viola (Roberts) and Francis Hoog.
In addition to her husband, Betty is survived by her daughter Sherry, wife of Mike Reenock, her grandchildren Jason Shade, Josh Reenock, and Stephen Reenock, and her two great-grandchildren Adeline and Lilah Reenock. She was predeceased by her son Harold Lee Shade.
Visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday, November 24, 2023 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm with services beginning at 1:00 pm at Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Avenue Reading, PA 19606. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 W Neversink Rd., Reading PA, 19606. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, 58 Kennel Rd, Birdsboro, Pa 19508. Lutz Funeral Home Inc., is in charge of arrangements.
