Betty J. (Wunsch) Cardinal, 99, of Lower Alsace Twp., passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026 at Complete Care Berkshire Center. She was the wife of the late Robert C. Cardinal. Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Beulah (Otto) Wunsch. Betty graduated from Reading High School and was a member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Betty is survived by her two sons; Robert C. Cardinal Jr., companion of Michelle, and Jeffrey A. Cardinal, husband of Adrienne. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Lauren, Jordan, Alexander, Evan, and Jeremy, and her great-grandchildren; Elaina and Gabriella. She was preceded in death by her siblings; Carl, John, James, Katherine, Ethel, Grace, and Ruth.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am at Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA 19606. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Road, Reading, PA 19605. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Betty's memory may be made to Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1375 Friedensburg Rd., Reading PA 19606. Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., has been entrusted with arrangements.
