Bette J. Fisher

Mrs. Bette Fisher passed away peacefully at the Country Meadows Retirement Community in Wyomissing PA on Thursday, July 31. She was 92.

Born Bette Jane Miller to Joel and Fayetta (Heisler) in 1933, she was the oldest of 2 daughters and one son. She graduated from Reading High School in 1952 and married Richard P Painter in 1954. They had a daughter, Susan in 1956 and a son Kevin in 1961. Richard passed away in 1967 and Bette remarried in 1977. Her second husband Norman C Fisher passed in 2023.

Bette loved the Phillies, Eagles and Penn State football. She also was an avid sewer, knitter and was proficient at crochet. She later worked in the banking industry in various capacities for 28 years, retiring in 1996. Bette and her husband Norman enjoyed bus trips to Florida for spring training each year and enjoyed going to Reading Phillies games with her son and daughter-in-law Karen after Norman passed.

She is survived by her son Kevin and daughter Susan, the wife of Richard Brok, her 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren plus her brother Harold Miller. She is predeceased by her sister Mildred.
