Barry L. Vogt

Barry L. Vogt, 85, of Mt. Penn, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 in his home with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of Frances R. (Zajdowicz) Vogt, with whom he celebrated 62 years of marriage. Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Edward P. and Glenora A. (Bigony) Vogt. Barry graduated from Governor Mifflin High School and Kutztown University with his Bachelor's Degree. He was the owner of Barry Vogt Beauty Salons as well as a realtor, working for Stout Associates Realtors and Exeter Realty. Barry was a member of Isaac Hiester Lodge No. 660 F.&A.M.. He was the current president of Mt. Penn Fire Company, where he was also the former Chief. Barry worked for Reading Fire Equipment for many years. He was also the Lower Alsace Township supervisor from 1968-1988. Barry enjoyed traveling with his family to their beach house in Bayberry Cove where he was very active in the community serving as a board member and past president. He was a member of Zion Spies Evangelical Reformed Church, where he also served as an Elder.

In addition to his wife, Barry is survived by his children; Renae Brigle, wife of Johnny, and Michael B. Vogt, husband of Christine (Betz). He is also survived by his grandchildren; Logan and Haley Brigle, and Michael and Olivia Vogt, as well as his brother Edward Vogt.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Monday evening, October 6, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA 19606. A service will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 beginning at 11:30 am at Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 W Neversink Road, Reading, PA 19606.
