Anne M. (Beatty) Essig, 90, of Exeter Township, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026. She was the wife of Paul T. Essig Sr. Esq. with whom she celebrated 63 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia City, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Dorothy (Lonergan) Beatty. Anne graduated from Little Flower High School in Philadelphia and Alvernia University with her BA in Education. Anne was a teacher at St. Catharine of Siena School for over 20 years and was a member of St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C.
In addition to her husband, Anna is survived by her children; Retired Navy Capt. Paul T. Essig Jr, husband of Kathleen, of Ligonier, Timothy W. Essig, husband of Christine, of Lititiz, Dr. Andrew M. Essig, husband of Christine, of Allentown, Rev. Edward J. Essig, of Shillington, Paula M. Mohutsky, wife of Michael, of Mountain Top, PA, and Regina S. Scanlon, wife of Mark, of Bath, Main. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and her sister Margaret Beatty. Anne was preceded in death by her siblings; Dorothy Young, Marie McBride, and Charles Beatty.
Visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00 am at St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C., 4975 Boyertown Pike, Reading, PA 19606. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Road, Reading, PA 19605. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church memorial fund at the above address.
