Eleanor Rissmiller

Eleanor A. Rissmiller, 87, of Exeter Township, passed away Monday, March 20, 2017 in Penn State Health- St. Joseph Medical Center. She was the widow of Bruce H. Rissmiller who passed away March 1, 2002. Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Leon and Mary (Czarnecki) Parslar. Eleanor was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in 1947 and was a member of St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C. She worked for Berkshire Knitting Mills and Boscov's Distribution Center and then ran her own alterations business until her retirement. Eleanor is survived by two sons, Rian B. Rissmiller husband of Susan and Kieth B. Rissmiller husband of Sherry both of Exeter Township; three daughters, Darcy L. wife of Harold Hoch of Oley, Lia D. widow of David Dugan of Muhlenberg Township and Maris E. wife of Tim Rearden of Fleetwood; grandchildren, Shawn, Colleen, Justin and James; great-grandchildren, Scott and Allison and one sister, Jennie Weber of Exeter Township. She was pre-deceased by her brother, Chester Parslar. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 from 10:00-11:00 am with funeral services beginning at 11:00 am in St. Catharine of Siena Chapel, 2427 Perkiomen Ave. Reading, PA 19606. Entombment in Forest Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family requests no flowers be sent. Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
