Joyce Corbin, 82, of Exeter Township, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015, in Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center. Born in the Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late David and Sadie Wasserman. Joyce was the beloved wife of Dr. Boris Corbin having celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary this past year.
In her younger years, while living in New York, Joyce was an active member of Women’s American ORT, one of the largest non-governmental education and training organizations in the world founded in 1880 to provide employable skills to those around the world. Having moved to Reading less than a year ago, Joyce kept in close touch with her longtime friends from New York, several since childhood, whose friendship she treasured.
Joyce was a woman who loved her family more than anything else. She always looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren who brought her much joy. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Joyce will be missed.
Joyce is also survived by her children: Dr. Glenn S. Corbin, husband of Gaye Corbin, of Exeter Township; and Ellyn Levin, of Boynton Beach, FL: a brother, Ira Wasserman, husband of Rose Wasserman, of Rockville Center, NY. She also had 5 grandchildren; Jessica Levin, Seth Corbin, husband of Valerie Corbin, Melody Levin, Tiffany (Levin) Ierodiaconou, wife of Joseph Ierodiaconou and Alyse (Corbin) Leybovich, wife of Richard Leybovich. Her surviving great grandchildren are Isaiah Harris, Natalie Corbin, Claire Corbin and Pearl Ierodiaconou. She was predeceased by a brother, Sheldon Wasserman.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 1PM at Gutterman’s Funeral Home, 175 N. Long Beach Road, Rockville Center, NY 11570; Interment will follow in New Montefiore Cemetery, Pine Lawn, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
