Paul Doelp

Paul R. Doelp, 81 of Reading, passed away, Monday, October 5th, 2015 while on vacation in Southport Island, Maine. He was the loving husband of Ruth A. (Wendel) Doelp for 58 years. Born in Wyndmoor Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Louis C. and Marie (Gavett) Doelp. Paul served in the United States Air Force and then earned a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Drexel University. He worked for 30 years in aviation marketing. From 1972 until 1980 he was the Executive Director of the Reading Air Show.

He was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church, Reading, and the Berks Art Alliance. Paul is survived by one son Jeffrey W. husband of Annamarie of Sinking Spring, one daughter Sherrie L. Rotell of Wyomissing, four grandchildren Robert J., Michael J., Joshua M. Rotell, and Alexander J. Doelp. He is also survived by his twin brother, Peter W. husband of Maria of Southport Island, Maine as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Louis C. Jr., and David W.



Visitation with family and friends will be held on Saturday October 17th from 9:30 am until 10:30 amwith services beginning at 10:30 am in the Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Ave, Mt. Penn. Interment in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal Church at 435 Court St. Reading PA 19601.
